Giving Back December: The Greater Vancouver Food Bank

The Holidays are officially here and naturally, PAPER LABEL is choosing to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank during this season of giving. The GVFB was originally established as a temporary relief to the hunger crisis in 1983 but has since grown into the most important non-government funded food assistance providers in Canada. To date, they provide monthly nourishment to approximately 13 000 individuals across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore.

Feeding people in the Greater Vancouver area is no easy task. With the rising price of groceries, we are seeing the effects of food insecurity more and more in our communities and want to do our part in supporting local families, seniors, housing agencies, women and children’s shelters, and all who are in need. People in your community, who have never needed the Food Bank before, and never thought they would, now need help to feed their families.

We encourage you to give to the Food Bank not only during the holiday season, but year-round.

The GVFB doubles every dollar raised through their strong buying power and relationships with farmers and retailers, and monetary donations also allow them to purchase the most needed items and freshest food available.

Other ways you can donate are by hosting a virtual food drive in your community. These virtual events are a fun and efficient way to maximize fundraising goals. Whether you start a food drive at your place of work, or in lieu of gifts, you’ll be making an impact on those who need support.

You can also host an in person event, shop the GVFB merchandise, or donate food to various location drop-off points.

PAPER LABEL will be donating 2% of online sales to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank during the month of December
